Code of Conduct

The MA Thespian Festival is a space where creativity, respect, and inclusivity take center stage. Every person—on stage, backstage, and in the audience—deserves to feel safe, valued, and heard. By participating in this festival, you agree to follow these guidelines:

Respect Everyone:

Treat all people with kindness and respect. Theatre is for everyone.

No Hate, No Harm:

Hateful language, bullying, discrimination, or racist behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes jokes, comments, or actions that put others down.

Speak Up, Stand Up:

If you see or hear something offensive or harmful, say something. Support each other and help make this festival a more welcoming place. If you need help, talk to a festival leader.

Be Responsible for Your Impact:

If someone tells you something you said or did was hurtful, listen and learn. We all make mistakes, and how we respond and grow matters.

Keep the Space Respectful:

Respect physical and emotional boundaries. Ask before touching someone or their belongings, including costumes and props.

Respect the artistic expression of others:

Even if you disagree with it. Constructive feedback is encouraged, but personal attacks are not.

What to Do if Something Happens

  • If you see or experience anything that breaks these rules, tell a Festival Leader or your school staff immediately. 

  • You can also fill out a report.

  • We'll take every report seriously and handle it with care and discretion.

Consequences for Violating the Code of Conduct

Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment. If a rule is broken, we will focus on education and accountability. However, serious or repeated violations will have consequences. These may include:

  • Removal from the Festival 

  • Involvement of School Administration
